What Parkway says about the hospital

Parkway's page for Parkway Shanghai Hospital describes it as a 450-bed multi-specialty tertiary hospital, codeveloped by Parkway Pantai and Shanghai Hongxin Medical Investment Holding Co Ltd. The same page says the hospital focuses on seven key specialties: cardiology, cardiac surgery, gastroenterology, urology, minimally invasive surgery, general surgery and internal medicine.

The Gubei clinic page says that, as part of IHH Healthcare, Parkway has been present in China for over 20 years.

Parkway's Insurance page says it offers direct billing for more than 60 domestic and international insurance providers. It says each insurance company and policy differs, and that Parkway works with the patient to establish coverage and bill the insurer for the covered amount.

What Parkway lists for hospital admission

Parkway's Admission Guide for Parkway Shanghai Hospital sets out four headings: Pre-Admission, Admission Time, Where To Go and What To Bring.

Pre-Admission. The guide says the doctor or clinic staff make the reservations for admission and guide the patient to the Business Office for pre-admission registration and financial counselling. It says the patient is contacted the day before admission with the details of the allocated room.
Admission Time. The guide says a patient may arrive at the hospital 2 hours before the procedure time. It adds a separate rule for patients who need blood on standby for surgery.
Where To Go. The guide says to go directly to the allocated room, where a nurse processes the check-in, and that the Concierge in the main lobby can help.
What To Bring. The guide lists the doctor's referral letter, an identity card or passport, an insurance card if any, and any medical benefits card or letter of guarantee from the insurer.
